My Story, My Purpose

On December 4th, 2024, life began to shift. It wasn’t a sudden moment or a dramatic event, it was a quiet build-up. Test results started to come back, more appointments were booked, and slowly, the truth unfolded. I was diagnosed with incurable stage four bowel cancer.

There was no dramatic pause, no chance to ask, “Why me?” We didn’t go looking for answers in questions that couldn’t be answered. Instead, my wife and I made a decision: This is happening, and we’re going to face it head-on. We accepted the road ahead and took the first step.

That step turned into another and then another. I made the call to step away from work, not because I wanted to but because I needed my energy focused on the right things: my family, my health, and the time we have together. That clarity became a gift. The noise of everyday life faded, and what truly mattered came into sharp focus.

In the middle of all that, something unexpected was born: Stronger Than Cancer | The Podcast

I started this podcast not as a content creator or podcasting expert, but as someone living through the reality of cancer, someone who knows that connection matters. I kept meeting people, patients, carers, and friends, who were walking their own version of this path, full of the same fear, confusion, strength, and hope.

This podcast isn’t about miracle cures or medical advice.
It’s about real conversations with real people.

You’ll hear from guests who were once told they had months to live and are still here years later. They’ll share what they did, what they learned, and how they found the strength to keep showing up. These are the stories that don’t make the headlines but live in hospital rooms, quiet moments, family kitchens and in the hearts of people trying to make the most of every day.

Since diagnosis, life has been full of challenges, scans, chemo, fatigue, and the heavy weight of the unknown. But it’s also been full of love, laughter, deeper relationships, and a powerful sense of purpose.

I’m still a husband. I’m still a dad. I’m still a mate. Now, I’m someone determined to share a message that’s bigger than just my journey.

So if you’re here, reading this, I’m grateful. It probably means cancer has touched your life in some way. Maybe it’s you, maybe it’s someone you love. Either way, you’re not alone.

We’re walking this road together, one step at a time.

And trust me—there’s always a next step.
