Thank You, Cancer

Cancer has given me a focus I’ve never had before, To make the most of my days and not let them fall to the floor.

Cancer has brought a level of love and support I never knew existed, For people not to feel this without trauma is honestly twisted.

Cancer has put my world into perspective, I feel things now I never expected. There’s a calm in me I never felt before, Knowing time is limited really opens new doors.

I see my future in a different way, Excited to make the most of every day. With my wife, my kids, and my blended team, It’s like I’m living in my own special dream.

Cancer will take me, I’m aware of this, But before it does, I’ll blow it a kiss. A kiss of gratitude for opening my eyes, To the beauty of family right here by my side.

And I’ll say this: believe me, it’s true, I’m grateful to you, Cancer, but we’re not done until I say we’re through!
